Yashmika Ramlakhan, student of SKKSA’s Durban North dojo, is the very deserving recipient of the Student of the Year award for 2014. A well-rounded karateka, Yashmika not only participated in events such as the KZN Karate Trials 2014 in January, but also attended 100% of her senior Saturday training. She was bestowed the honour of “Student of the Year 2014” at the SKKSA Awards Evening 2014, held on Saturday, December 13th.

Some information about the venue:
The Summer Course will be held at the UKZN Westville Campus Sports Science Hall (not to be confused with the Sports Arena, which is also on this campus). The directions provided in the embedded Google Maps below provide routes into the campus. You can use these interactive maps to determine the best possible route to get there. Upon arrival at the security gate to the campus, you can ask the guard for directions to the Sports Science Hall. The venue will be signposted with SKKSA banners outside the building.

We’re excited to announce our December Events, the final items on the karate calendar for 2014.
Beginning on 5 December 2014, our Summer Course will bring together karateka from our dojos across the east coast, from Amanzimtoti to Stanger. On 7 December, karateka will undertake their final examinations at the conclusion of the Summer Course 2014.
On 13 December, our annual Awards Evening promises to end the karate year on a stylish note as we honour those students who have excelled throughout 2014.

SKKSA regrets to announce that the Spring Course 2014, scheduled to take place this weekend, has been postponed. The safety of our karateka is paramount, and we will not risk their attendance at a venue that is currently considered volatile.
A new date for the Spring Course will be announced on Monday, 8 September 2014. This information will be communicated to karateka via a circular at our dojos, and on our online platforms (this website, and our Facebook and Twitter pages).

We’re excited to announce the first SKKSA “Spring Course”! Over the weekend of 6-7 September, join our chief instructor Sensei Aneel Dowlath and senior SKKSA instructors for informative, fun karate sessions and interact with karateka across our dojos from the North to South Coast.
This Spring Course is the first additional weekend course to occur, and complements our annual Summer Course, scheduled for 5-6 December this year.
