SKDSA is SKKSA - We’re Forging into a New Era of Karatedo

In July 2000, a man with an immense passion for the art of karate started one of the most influential karate organisations in South Africa. In the intervening years, this organisation became known for its unique style, unwavering eye for technical detail and its powerful and dynamic ways of teaching one of Japan’s most noble and ancient arts.

In 2010 we usher in a new era of karatedo. SKDSA is now Shotokan Kokusai Karatedo South Africa.

“Kokusai” means “international” in Japanese, and this embodies our new direction - taking on the world’s stage.

In 2010 we will be celebrating our 10 years with a host of events, including training workshops, an unforgettable tournament and culminating in the arrival and week-long course with Hanshi Rikuta Koga, head of the SKISF.
