In the midst of Mid-Year Gradings

It’s that time of year again – SKKSA’s mid-year gradings. Our Avoca, Overport, Ottawa and Durban North dojos have already completed their gradings, and there’s still 5 more dojos awaiting their exams.

So far we’ve had very successful gradings at all four dojos, and are looking forward to the successful completion of the remainder of the exams.

These gradings are one of two held throughout the year for all colour belts, the second set of exams scheduled for December this year at the end of our annual Weekend Seminar.

On Saturday, July 6th, three of our dojos – Ottawa, Overport and Durban North – graded at the Durban North dojo in the morning. That afternoon, Sensei Aneel Dowlath presided over the trial examinations for the team leaving to Switzerland later this month. These trial exams represent the culmination of the team’s gruelling preparation which began in January, and serves as a simulation of what they’ll expect at the Swiss gradings.

SKKSA would like to thank everyone who helped to ensure that the first four gradings were successful.

The next examination will be this afternoon at the Shakaskraal dojo.

We wish all our karateka the best over this examination period, and look forward to seeing everyone who graded back at training soon with their new belts!

Oss.
